Compound semiconductors have had a profound impact in an ever-increasing range of applications. Offering enhanced performance and a new range of capabilities compared to previous technologies, they have pushed the boundaries of technology. The positive impact of this research has already given rise to vital technologies such as energy-efficient household lighting, fibre optic broadband, and high-speed wireless communications, to name a few.

The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Compound Semiconductor Manufacturing encourages research that has a distinct and positive impact, driven by profound connections with industrial and academic partners.
This conference explores the work currently undertaken by the CDT and its distinct impact on the industry. Furthermore, our keynote speakers provide insight into their highly relevent research and commercial activity within the compound semiconductor cluster, outlining the challenges faced in achieving the next generation of technological development.
